The Harkes Come to Visit

Okay, so this post is about 4 months late, but we wanted to share some photos from my family's visit to Botswana. We had such a great time! It was nice to have them see what our lives are like in Botswana and to explore new places with them.

Our first boat ride on the Okavango. My favorite birds, the Southern Carmine Bee Eater!
The water was just beautiful!
The first of many elephants on their trip!

This guy was not happy with us. It was amazing to see so many elephants near our village.

Had to go fishing with Vince around! No tiger fish, but lots of barbels (catfish).

We had a nice trip to Tsodilo Hills.

The Mountains of the Gods are really spectacular!

Love this colorful grass at Tsodilo Hills.

Pearled or barred owlet (not sure which one) at Tsodilo Hills. We also saw leopard tracks!!!

I'm quite glad they got to see how most people buy their meat. Near the kgotla, hanging off of stick :) Luckily we knew many of these people so we could take a picture.

Zebras at Mahangu National Park, Namibia. These seemed to be my mom's favorite.

Awesome baobab at Mahangu National Park.

We went somewhere awesome for my 29th birthday. This is what we saw on the way! Amazing.

Group shot at one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World!

Had great food and fruity cocktails at one of the top 10 restaurants in the world. Best birthday ever!

Sable antelope at Chobe National Park.

Found an amazing nesting site for cormorants and storks.

Cape buffalo at Chobe National Park.

African Fish Eagle!

So many elephants!

Hippos!!!

Elephants at sunset. I love the Chobe Waterfront!

We went on a game flight outside of Maun. Here's the village of Maun from the air.

What a cool way to see the Okavango Delta!

The Okavango Delta. Can you find the elephant?

We also went on an awesome all day boat ride to Chief's Island in Moremi Game Reserve.

Love the wetland vegetation!

I love these elephants!

Giraffe at Moremi.

As always, abundant birdlife.

Malachite Kingfisher!!!

One last fishing trip!
